KKP's The School Of All Trades: The Idea Behind The Game

Have a miles-long To-Do list that you just dread looking at? Want to learn a skill or improve on one you already have, but you lack that fundamental motivation to follow through on it? Have you ever tried those pseudo-RPG productivity games to help you get things done, but gave up because you ultimately couldn't do anything with your character except perpetually grind for xp? Do you wish for a productivity game that was a real RPG with monsters to fight and quests with storylines to complete and awesome loot to earn?

Well, you're in luck, as KKP's The School Of All Trades--TSOAT--brings you exactly that! Improve your character by completing To-Do lists and leveling-up real world skills, then go and play through quests, fight monsters, and duel with other players. It's meant to be a true RPG experience where you actually get to do something with the character you've worked so hard to build and improve! Just fill out your Character Sheet, place it in the HUD, and you're ready to go!

Because this is your self-improvement journey, TSOAT works on an honor system. No one but you is in charge of your character, because only you can decide where you're at in things, where you go, and how to get there. This means there is nothing to stop you from maxing out all your stats on your character sheet and curb-stomping quests and monsters. Just know that if you do that, you'll be defeating the purpose of the game, and yourself. The only person in the end who gets cheated is you. But you do you.

But, "Ah!" you say, "What about duels with other players? If there's nothing to stop a person from cheating, how can I ensure that I'm dueling with people who have legitimately created and advanced their characters?" Good question.

My suggestion for duelists is to use agreed-upon, predefined character sheets that ensure everyone is battling on an even playing field. For those who wish to host tournaments, take this idea on a larger scale: create predefined character sheets that are no copy, no mod, and hand them out to your duelists to place in their HUDs. This way, everyone's using approved character sheets!

Finally, I'd really, truly love some good and honest feedback about the game, as well as what I can do to improve on it. This is version 1.0, which means there will be future versions and updates. And I want those updates to address the needs of the players. I can't do that without your valuable feedback!
